Definitely the kind of thing one would want to back-in.

I thought these would be embraced by the spoiled coed demographic, but they are rare out here too - the closed models are preferred, and now the Velar.

This is how I feel about all vehicles that are hard to see out of. But I feel like this even more influences people to not want to try that. For some reason people like procrastinating the “difficult part” of driving. Its much safer to get it out of the way when you dont have to worry about pedestrians or cross traffic spontaneously appearing.

Its like a miniature murano crosscabriolet. I have seen those in person but not one of these yet.

I agree on that. The person who buys this (or has it bought for them) doesn’t want the work, and will just chance it when they can.

Cross Cabriolet is better

“Better” is most easily quantified by an object’s cost.

Confession - I want one. I’d strip the interior a bit (no sound deadening or carpets to get wet...probably change the seats a bit too), put on beefier tires and wheels and cage it with a brushguard on the front, a spare tire on the rear cage, then put on a nice tall mast for my orange flag and have a supple beach bomber. Should be a couple hundred pounds lighter with less interior and no convertible mechanism. Would be a ton of fun on good days. Like a baja bug and a range rover banged copiously in a cheap motel room with no A/C and produced a bastard son.

Plus I bet they NEVER put the top down. I have not seen the top down on a Murano Cross Cab, no matter what the weather. I know I am nuts and will drive my Miata top down in 0F or in 100F no problem. But it drives me crazy to see really impractical and expensive convertibles driving around with the top up on 70F and mostly sunny days. Like shit, that is the only perfect weather for it and you still have the damn top up!! Idk why it bothers me so much since I normally dont care much about what people do as long as it doesnt affect me.

Come to think of it, I have yet to see either of those top down, either. I think they are for people who like the idea of a convertible, but are scared of over-stimulation, or perceived safety issues.

I had an F-Type cabrio as a rental car in Germany a couple months ago. As long as it was freezing or above and dry, and not on unrestricted Autobahn, top was down.
